The son of an Indian army Colonel and born in Dehradun, India. Guruprit Singh
graduated from Calcutta University with a Major in Commerce. Throughout his life he has been naturally inclined towards spirituality and his studies in palmistry & psychology have given him the extraordinary capacity to predict the future course in the life of an individual.
When asked about his attitude towards teaching, Guruprit says, “Practice of
asanas without the backing of yama & niyama is mere acrobatics. It is important to me that my students should adopt a correct and safe technique in mastering the postures. I am delighted when they find my class interesting and want to know more.” As may be expected from his Punjabi upbringing he is rather No Nonsense in his approach to the work. Yet he is meticulous and underneath it all warm and friendly. His interests in life include natural cures through natural therapies, literature, music, the arts and sports. He believes that the problem of world health can be helped considerably by the proper propagation and teaching of Yoga, he sincerely hopes that all people can be healthy (spiritually, mentally & physically) by taking advantage of this ancient system.
